What could be better than snorkelling, scuba diving and cruising along the scenic waters of Kauai?
With Blue Dolphin Charters, you can experience all of these fun activities plus a Luau buffet-style dinner, and unlimited beverages treat. Aboard a 65-foot modern catamaran, you begin sailing the island’s south shore, through the west until you reach the tip of the northwestern part, which begins your iconic Na Pali coast adventure.
In the company of accommodating and knowledgeable team, including the Captain, you will spend five and a half hours on the Hawaiian sea, looking at fascinating features of the Na Pali coast. The best thing about this cruise is you get to snorkel and scuba dive (optional with an upgrade) to watch stunning underwater coral gardens and get closer to beautiful sea creatures. If you are interested, scroll down, and we’ll tell you a story – your story when you join this unforgettable experience.
What to Expect?
Did we say this is a barefoot trip? If we didn’t yet, make sure to remove your footwear before boarding. However, if you have some medical conditions that require you to wear shoes, then inform them ahead of time. You must bring these things to enjoy this thrilling escapade to the fullest: camera, sunscreen (reef-safe), towel, bathing suit, windbreaker or light jacket, ID (if you plan to consume alcohol), and motion sickness medications.
After the Captain discusses a short safety briefing, everybody climbs the vessel, along with the attentive and accommodating crew. When you look around the boat, you will see that it’s a spacious deluxe double-decker. The lower deck has a shaded cabin with freshwater showers and bathrooms for men and women, and of course, plenty of space to roam around. Meanwhile, the top deck, where the Captain sits has a few benches with tables. So, we suggest checking-in earlier so you could sit here, where you have a bird’s eye view of the scenery. Plus, you don’t get splashed with water if you don’t feel like getting soaked before snorkelling.
Departing from Port Allen, your first destination is the West Kauaian shore. On your way, appetizers are served, as well as unlimited beverages like water, juice, and soft drinks. While indulging in those delights and refreshments, make sure you have your camera ready to capture the spectacular view. Since it’s summer, the afternoon sunshine and the blue skies add beauty to the seascape. As you reach the end of the west shore, you pass by the longest stretch of beach in Hawaii called Polihale Beach. This is known as a wild beach, which is not safe for snorkeling and diving because it is unprotected from the open ocean. However, it is known for its remarkable sunset and camping sites.
Entering the Na Pali coast, the Captain positions the boat to ensure the best site for snorkeling and scuba diving. At the same time, he talks about facts regarding the ocean and its marine lives, which you probably haven’t heard before. At this point, you may see whales breaching, dolphins swimming, and turtles gasping for air. Many guests have been so lucky to gaze at them closely.
If you want to get wet and swim with them, gear up and prepare to snorkel. If this is your first time, worry not! The crew assists you all the way. And you could also scuba dive if you wish to swim deeper for the best view. Additionally, you can float on boogie boards or noodles, or play on the water slide. At the back of the boat, there is a convenient swim step where you could just dangle your feet and feel the warmth of the water.
The next part of your exploration is an unforgettable dinner. The Captain once again positions the vessel very close to the Na Pali cliffs. You can stand right in front of the waterfalls and take pictures. After satisfying your eyes and heart with all the awe-inspiring sceneries you saw and fun activities you did, it’s time to spoil your mouth and stomach with a mouthwatering luau buffet-style dinner, including kalua pork. This is accompanied with alcoholic beverages for adults, including mai tai, wine and beer.
Heading back to the harbor, a blend of vibrant oranges and reds appear in the skies. Sunset has begun, which is an equally stunning, worth a perfect shot. To celebrate it, you and the other guests with the crew finish the trip with a champagne toast.
