Spare a little time to find your peace and adventure in nature. Take part in the only self-guided kayak tour offered on Kicker Rock and discover one of the Pacific’s most stunning deserted beaches called Makua Beach. Get up close and personal with graceful sea turtles lurking just off the shoreline, or enjoy more extreme thrills as you paddle into heavy surf crashing against high cliffs along the Kona Coast. Spend the day kayaking through a spectacular Hawaiian rainforest. This self-guided tour is perfect for those looking for an easy, relaxing experience. Participants will explore this beautiful forest and surrounding coastline with only their guidebook and map to lead them on their adventure. Make sure to bring your swimsuit so you can cool down after a long paddling session.
You’ll be starting at Keneke’s Grill in Kaaawa, and kayaks are available (subject to availability), but it’s not required because there is plenty of room before the point where we launch from. Remember sunscreen, or you might get sunburned! Wear quick-drying clothing, such as nylon pants, spandex shorts, or wet suits since they dry.
Aloha! Have you ever wanted to experience the rainforest in Hawaii but don’t want the hassle of booking a flight? Then this self-guided kayaking tour is perfect for you. We offer 3-hour tours that include transport from Keneke’s Grill, which is located near Punaluu. After arriving at our pickup location in Kaaawa, we will give you a brief overview and then paddle downwind about 2 miles outside of Kaaawa bay to an abandoned lighthouse on Peacock Spit beach. You’ll get the chance to explore some tide pools before returning to the land and enjoying your post-expedition meal at the restaurant we picked up near.
You and your family will be led by a certified guide for this adventurous kayaking excursion! Enjoy cooling off in the refreshing waters, explore inland waterways, paddle through lush vegetation while viewing native wildlife. The tour will end at Punaluu’s white sand beach, where you can take a swim before enjoying lunch on Keneke’s Grill porch.
Punaluu Beach is an ideal location to play in the sun or escape the oceanic heat as there is plenty of room to stretch out. Many exceptional tidal pools are located along this pristine coastline if you’re willing to look for those who desire solitude. The best, most fantastic kayaking experience in the world. Sit back, get lost, and enjoy the beauty around you.
