We know you’re happy to know that there is no dress code for this adventure. So, wear anything comfortable before the bus picks you up from your hotel (which is included in your package) from 4 to 5 pm, depending on the season. Due to different sunset hours throughout the year, Makani Catamaran departs from the harbor at 5:30 pm in Spring and Summer (May-August), whereas it leaves 30 minutes earlier at 5 pm in Fall and Winter (September-April). Make sure to check-in 30 minutes prior to the departure if you’re driving. Also, note that its operations are from Tuesdays to Sundays and cancels on bad weather days and special holidays without prior notice.

As soon as you step on the boat, a homey feeling strikes for its relaxing ambiance and clean, well-maintained, and beautiful interior. The friendly and accommodating crew greet and welcome you offering a complementary beverage (either alcoholic or non-alcoholic). Your navigation starts from the Waikiki coastline to the Diamond Head, which is equally a beauty. You can start taking pictures here, capturing the mesmerizing waves and relaxing water. If you have seasickness, we suggest you take some pills before boarding. But anyhow, the crew takes care of guests so maybe they can help you with that. 

A few minutes after departure, the full bar starts to open, which is fully stocked with all the must-haves – Mai Tai and pina colada, among others. Nothing compares to watching a picturesque view of the ocean with a cocktail on your hand, doesn’t it? 

After a few minutes of sailing, dinner is served. Splurge in a delightful Island-Style Beef & Vegetable Stir Fry with Sweet Onion, paired with zesty carrots and crisp celery. If you’re into rice, steamed white rice is also available, which can be perfectly combined with the island-style fried chicken. How would you feel dancing by the sunset and moonlight in a boat? That’s right. Makani Catamaran plays soothing music on a sound speaker, which makes you want to dance (Well, you could if you want to). The boat is quite spacious, so you need not worry about getting crowded. In fact, it’s a good social mix, and you can create a good camaraderie with the other guests. It’s a little chilly at this part of the boat, especially in winter, so a light jacket is enough to warm you. Here’s a tip: the best spot to seat is up front near the trampolines as you head out towards Diamond Head. Here, you can have a chance to spot some ocean lives like turtles, whales and dolphins. So prepare your camera and capture beautiful moments in the sea.
