There are many reasons why you should try this 18-hole, par 72 golf course located at Ewa Plains. Sure, there are a few other golf courses in the area, but Coral Creek promises a fun and challenging game while relaxing at a beautiful paradise.

Designed by the famous Robin Nelson, this 6,808- yard golf course boasts lush green seashore paspalum grasses all over the layout that add stunning color to the course. Nelson’s idea was to showcase the natural rock formations in the area in cliff-like structures, which turned out really beautiful. With complete facilities such as a restaurant, bar, and pro-shop managed by friendly and helpful staff, you have everything you need and undoubtedly have a good time!

Coral Creek is aimed to challenge all levels of skills, including the pros. So, if you’re in Oahu, drop by and experience what we are talking about.

Coral Creek Golf Club is just 30 to 40-minute drive away from Waikiki. From there, take the H1 Freeway heading west towards Waianae. Approach the “Exit 5A” Ewa cutoff, going straight to Ft. Weaver Rd for approximately 3.5 miles. You will reach Kolowaka St, and see the next intersection, which is Geiger Road. Turn right and drive for about 0.5 miles, passing Kapolei Parkway intersection. About 250 yards on the left, look for the owl sign, and that is the entrance.

As soon as you arrive on the golf course, starting from bag drop, check-in, and other club services, the accommodating crew will take care of you. They have a pro-shop where you can purchase golf gears, including high-end brands. If you haven’t played for a long time and feel like you need a warm-up before your game, they have a covered driving range to practice your swing, two practice putting greens, a practice bunker, and two chipping areas.

Like everybody is saying, the course is generous enough to cater to all levels. The layout has some interesting holes, greens are in good shape, as well as the bunkers and fairways. Carts are installed with GPS, which is, of course, a good thing. 

At hole number 4 (par 4), the green is slightly elevated with bunkers on each side, which tests your skills and patience. You may need as many as more than three clubs than the normal to hit your target. One of this award-winning golf course’s signature holes is par 4, number 12. It is known to be either a reward or risk. Losing your tee shot here results in a terrible lie on the hillside with a full water carry to the green. However,  to avoid this, carry the fairway bunkers and take the lake out of play with a simple wedge to the green. 

Another is the par 3, 13th. But despite the obstacles, you will be priced with a waterfall, a stream, and a colorful garden views here. The length ranges from 190 to 110 yards, and every missed shot is witnessed by the calm blue lake that is dug out of the coral. It’s worth it anyway, isn’t it?

Overlooking the 13th hole is the laid-back restaurant, which serves delicious American, Asian and local cuisine. You can order entrees, homemade burgers, sandwiches, noodles, and their bestseller oxtail soup. If you happen to play golf on the first Thursday of the month, a live band is playing from 7:00 – 10:00 pm. And every day on a happy hour (2:00 – 5:00 pm), everybody can dine in, golfer or not, and enjoy great beer selection on draft!
