Are you looking forward to spending a golf day in Hawaii? The land of Aloha attracts golfers all over the world with its courses’ breathtaking scenery, champion-caliber course designs, and one-of-a-kind signature holes.

Here, you don’t merely play golf, but also get to discover hidden treasures on the island that not many people see – from greens lined with black volcanic rough to gorgeous seaside water hazards!

If you happen to be in Kona, or even anywhere in Hawaii, why don’t you head over to Mauna Lani Resort where you can find the North Course and experience an unusual adventure in a paradise? Designed on a lava bed, it features 18 holes of rolling terrain accentuated by Kiawe or mesquite forests. Its 230-acre area is protected by an archaeological district nestled on the northern boundary of the golf course.

As soon as you step on the course, the friendly staff welcome you with genuine Aloha greetings. Did you know that North Course has quickly become the most famous tournament venues on the Big Island? Also, it is rated as one of the best golf experiences throughout Hawaii!

Number 17 is your signature hole, a 140-yards par-3 hole that requires a tee shot from an elevated tee to a green, which is enclosed with striking natural lava amphitheaters! So, when you visit here, ensure to bring your camera for a photo opportunity that you don’t want to miss and show your friends you were here! Another highlight of the course is the herds of feral goats who like to visit, wandering from one hole to another.

If you are a beginner, don’t worry because there are five different tee positions on most of the holes that give every level a wide range of options in meeting their challenging conditions. You will notice groves of twisted Kiawe along the fairway edges and water hazards also come into play on many holes. Plus, there are several where you can clearly watch the beautiful Pacific Ocean!
