Duration:

Age and group size:
This tour is for riders 15 years and older, with a minimum of 2 participants and space for up to 12 people per departure.
About the experience:
Trade crowded parking lots and slow drives for the freedom of fat tire e-bikes as you glide through one of the world’s most remarkable volcanic landscapes. As the only operator using fat tire e-bikes inside Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, we cover more ground with far less effort—letting you focus on the views instead of the climb. The wide tires and electric assist make the ride smooth, stable, and surprisingly easy, even over rolling terrain.
These bikes are powerful yet approachable: they’re fun to ride, responsive, and simple to get the hang of, even if you’ve never been on an e-bike before but already feel comfortable on a regular bicycle. After a short orientation, you’ll follow your guide along park roads and selected paths, stopping at major viewpoints and key volcanic features most visitors only glimpse from a distance.
Your guide isn’t just leading the way—they’re also volcano specialists who bring the landscape to life. As you ride, you’ll hear clear, engaging explanations of how the island was built, how different types of lava form, and how recent eruptions have reshaped the area. You’ll move more quickly than cars or walking tours, so you can see more of the park’s highlights in less time while still having plenty of opportunities to stop, look, and take photos.
Participation requirements:
This is an active biking tour and is best suited for intermediate or better riders who are already comfortable on a standard 26″ two-wheeled bicycle. Being unable to ride a bike safely does not qualify for a refund, as cycling is the core activity of this experience.
