About the Surf Tour
Built for surfers with prior experience who want to level up on Oʻahu’s North Shore, this guided surf tour focuses on progression and local knowledge. You’ll learn how island currents move, how reef breaks work, and how to choose the right spot based on swell, wind, and tide.

The session begins with a series of surf checks at trusted local breaks. Once conditions are assessed, you’ll head to the best option for the day and spend roughly the next 2.5 hours surfing. If it makes sense based on travel time and wave quality, you may surf more than one location—often splitting time between spots to maximize your wave count and variety.

With personalized coaching, you’ll feel more confident navigating an unfamiliar lineup and making better decisions in real time.

Board & Gear Notes
Newer surfers will be matched with a stable soft-top board when appropriate. Intermediate to advanced surfers are encouraged to bring their own equipment for the best performance and comfort. If you don’t have a board, you can get local rental recommendations. Discounted board options may also be available through a partner surf shop (board rentals are priced separately). For details, contact the team directly at (808) 366-5523 (Zack).

Marine Life Sightings (Seasonal)
Many winter and summer surf zones on the North Shore double as excellent snorkeling areas. While waiting in the lineup, it’s common to see green sea turtles, and depending on the season you may also spot humpback whales during migration, spinner dolphins, reef fish, and occasional manta rays.

Satisfaction Guarantee
If you’re not happy with the experience or service, a refund is offered—no questions asked.

North Shore Surf Tour Information

  • The tour typically includes Pipeline/Banzai, Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay, Haleiwa town, and several other iconic breaks depending on conditions and season. Your guide selects the most interesting and active spots based on current surf and weather conditions.

  • Winter months (November through March) offer the best chances of seeing massive waves, with swells often reaching 15-30+ feet. Summer months provide calmer conditions better for swimming and closer observation of the surf breaks.

  • This is primarily a sightseeing and educational tour. However, we can arrange surfing activities at appropriate beginner spots if requested. The famous breaks visited are typically for expert surfers only due to their power and dangerous conditions.

  • When conditions are good, especially during winter months, you may see professional and local expert surfers in action. The North Shore is where many pros train and live, so sightings are common during active surf conditions.

  • Bring a camera, reef-safe sunscreen, hat, comfortable walking shoes, water, and snacks. If visiting in winter, bring a light jacket as the North Shore can be cooler and windier than other parts of Oahu.
