Sail, Snorkel & Paddle the Wailea Coast
Discover Maui’s Beauty by Traditional Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe
Times & Duration
- Daily Departure: 8:00 AM
- Tour Length: 2 Hours

About the Experience
Step back in time and explore the Wailea coast the way ancient Polynesians once did — aboard a traditional Hawaiian outrigger sailing canoe. This exceptional 2-hour adventure brings together culture, ocean exploration, and connection, all framed by the breathtaking backdrop of South Maui.
Your journey begins at Polo Beach, where your local crew introduces you to the art of Hawaiian canoe building, celestial navigation, and sailing traditions that guided voyagers across the Pacific for centuries. Once everyone is aboard, you’ll launch the sailing canoe Hina directly from the sand, setting out under the same gentle trade winds that carried Maui’s earliest navigators.
As you paddle along the coastline, enjoy panoramic views of Haleakalā, Molokini Crater, and neighboring islands. Dive into the region’s crystal-clear waters to snorkel among Hawaiian green sea turtles (honu) and colorful reef fish. From December through April, you may also be treated to an unforgettable encounter with migrating Humpback whales, often seen breaching nearby.
