This Mauka to Makai (mountain to ocean) adventure offers incredible value, stunning scenery, and the chance to explore upcountry Maui on your own terms.

Daily Schedule

• Check-In Time: 7:30 in the morning

• Tour Returns: Around 11:30 in the morning

• Meeting Point: Mountain Riders Office

After check-in, you’ll enjoy a scenic, guided van ride up the mountain. Once at the drop-off point, the ride down begins — and the rest is up to you.

Who Can Join

• Minimum Age: 12 years old

• Minimum Height: 4 feet 10 inches

• Maximum Weight: Approximately 280 pounds

• Health Restrictions: Due to high elevation, this tour is not suitable for pregnant individuals, either as cyclists or van passengers

Tour Itinerary – Self-Guided Haleakalā Bike Adventure

Your adventure kicks off at 7:30 AM when you arrive at our headquarters located at 886 Haliʻimaile Avenue in the charming town of Haliʻimaile, Maui.

From there, you’ll board a comfortable guided van that transports you up the scenic slopes of Haleakalā. Once you reach the designated drop-off point, the real excitement begins — a self-paced downhill ride that takes you through the breathtaking landscapes of Haleakalā Ranch, the rolling hills of Kula, and the historic town of Makawao. The journey concludes right back at our Haliʻimaile base on Maui’s stunning North Shore.

We take care of the logistics so you can focus on the ride — roundtrip transportation to Haleakalā, premium Volcano Chrome Cruiser bicycles, and full-face helmets are all included for your safety and comfort.
