Bike Rescue Coverage: What Is It and What Does It Cover?
Bike Rescue is an optional insurance add-on that covers flat tires and electronics issues within a 7.5-mile radius of West Maui. For just $10, you get peace of mind knowing help is available if something goes wrong. Please note that traveling beyond Honolua Bay (north) or Olowalu (south) falls outside the covered area, and additional fees may apply based on distance.
Tip: Flat tires caused by Maui’s local vegetation, like Kiawes, are common, making this add-on a smart investment.
How Long Does the Battery Last?
The range of your e-bike depends on various factors such as rider weight, terrain, and gear usage. Typically:
Non-premium e-bikes: 12 to 30 miles per charge
Premium e-bikes: 30 to 60 miles per charge
For the best performance, use lower gears when climbing hills, and keep pedal assist at a moderate level to extend the battery’s life. If you run out of power, you can still pedal and enjoy the ride as a regular bike. For multi-day rentals, it’s recommended to charge the battery overnight. We’ll show you how to remove and charge the battery during your orientation.

For Beginner Riders
If you’re new to biking, here’s some advice:
Test ride first: Make sure you feel comfortable balancing, mounting, dismounting, and riding the bike with both pedal assist and manual effort.
Not confident? Consider canceling or switching to a tandem bike before 24 hours. You can also opt for a 2-hour rental to practice before a group ride.
Tandem options: Rent a tandem bike (two riders on one bike) or hire a guide to lead you on your adventure for extra confidence.
