What to Expect on the Tour

Spend your afternoon exploring Kaua‘i’s world-famous Nā Pali Coast — a stretch of towering emerald cliffs, hidden valleys, sea caves, and secluded beaches that can only be reached by boat.

You’ll cruise aboard one of our high-performance Super Rafts, designed for comfort and stability on open water. These vessels feature cushioned seating, serious power, and excellent maneuverability, plus the convenience of an onboard restroom. That means you get a smooth ride and access to spots that larger boats can’t reach.

Throughout the tour, our local captains and crew share stories, history, and legends of the Nā Pali Coast, bringing the landscape to life as we pause at scenic points along the way.

This is an afternoon departure, which means you’ll catch the coast during its most photogenic hour. As the sun drops, the ridgelines, beaches, and cathedral-like cliffs start glowing gold — perfect for photographers and anyone who loves dramatic light.

Every Nā Pali Coast tour also includes a snorkel stop (about 1 hour). You’ll have time to jump in, cool off, and swim with tropical reef fish. Hawaiian green sea turtles are frequently seen in these waters.

Sample Itinerary

Check-In
Please arrive 45 minutes before your scheduled departure at our ‘Ele‘ele Harbor office.
For afternoon departures, check-in begins at 12:45 PM.

Scenic Cruise to Nā Pali (approx. 45 minutes)
We’ll head up the coastline from Kaua‘i’s west side toward the Nā Pali Coast, taking in sweeping views along the way.

Nā Pali Exploration (approx. 1.5 hours)
Once we reach Nā Pali, get ready for dramatic vertical cliffs that rise up to 4,000 feet, sea caves carved by the ocean, remote beaches, and possible wildlife sightings.

Snorkel Stop (approx. 1 hour)
We’ll anchor at a calm, clear-water location so you can snorkel, swim, and explore underwater life with provided gear.

Return to Harbor
We cruise back toward ‘Ele‘ele as the late afternoon sun washes Kaua‘i’s long westside beaches in warm golden light.

Check-In Information

Please plan to arrive 45 minutes before your scheduled departure time.

For afternoon departures:

• Check-in is open from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM

• All guests must be present in person and fully checked in by 1:15 PM

• The boat leaves at 1:30 PM sharp

Guests who are not checked in on time may lose their spot.

What to Bring

To stay comfortable and prepared on the water, we recommend bringing:

• Footwear that’s easy to slip on and off (this is a barefoot tour)

• Hat and sunglasses

• Reef-safe sunscreen

• Towel

• Light jacket or windbreaker for breeze / spray

• Waterproof camera or GoPro (optional but great for photos)

Important Notes

Barefoot boarding
This is a barefoot tour. You’ll be asked to remove your shoes before boarding, so please wear footwear that comes off easily.

Mobility requirements

• Guests must be able to climb steps and move independently.

• You should be physically able to walk about 200 yards (roughly the length of two football fields) without assistance to reach the boat.

Who Should Not Join This Tour

For safety reasons, this experience is not recommended for:

• Pregnant guests

• Guests with serious or unstable medical conditions

• Guests with limited mobility or difficulty walking unassisted

Ocean Conditions & Activities

Entering sea caves, swimming, and snorkeling are all dependent on day-of ocean and weather conditions. The captain will always make the final call for safety.

Because the Nā Pali Coast is a remote, open-ocean environment, certain activities may be modified or skipped if conditions are not safe.

Cancellation Policy

Kauaʻi Offshore Adventures enforces a cancellation window that ranges from 48 hours up to 30 days before your scheduled tour, depending on the type of booking. Cancellations that fall within the required notice period for your reservation are eligible to be refunded. Cancellations made after that deadline are non-refundable.
