Peak Hours Manta Ray Adventure

Optimal Timing for Maximum Manta Activity

By departing later in the evening, we arrive at manta ray feeding sites during their most active feeding periods when plankton concentrations are highest. This timing strategy often results in more manta rays and increased feeding activity, providing spectacular viewing opportunities as these graceful creatures perform their mesmerizing feeding dances in the illuminated waters.

Peaceful Extended Snorkeling Experience

Enjoy a longer, more relaxed snorkeling session with extended time in the water during optimal manta ray viewing conditions. With fewer boats and tourists during late night hours, you’ll experience a more serene and intimate encounter with these magnificent creatures while floating peacefully under the starlit Hawaiian sky.

Professional Night Snorkeling Support

Our experienced marine guides provide specialized late-night safety protocols and enhanced lighting systems for optimal viewing and safety. With professional-grade equipment including wetsuits for warmth, high-quality masks and snorkels, and additional flotation support, you’ll stay comfortable during extended time in cooler nighttime waters.

This late-night manta ray snorkel (seasonal) is designed for guests who are comfortable swimming in the ocean after dark. With fewer boats on the water at this hour, the experience is quieter, calmer, and incredibly memorable.

As we head out from the harbor, you’ll watch Kona’s shoreline glow beneath the night sky. When we arrive at Manta Ray Village, your crew will provide a full safety briefing before guiding you into the water to float above the manta rays — known locally as hahalua — as they glide and feed beneath you.

After snorkeling, relax on board with hot cocoa, hot tea, or a cocktail while the lights of Kona shimmer offshore. The entire outing feels peaceful, almost otherworldly — a perfect choice for confident snorkelers seeking something more intimate.
