We anchor in crystal-clear waters about 20 feet deep, where a beautiful sandy bottom awaits. Here, we’ll guide you on how to safely interact with our wild Manta Rays and share fascinating facts about these majestic creatures. Once you’ve suited up, it’s time to dive in and meet these incredible animals face-to-face. Did you know that Manta Rays have the largest brain of any fish? And that’s just one of the amazing things you’ll discover!
Imagine watching these graceful creatures somersaulting right in front of you—so close, you might just feel like you could reach out and touch them. It’s an unforgettable experience, unlike anything else. On your way back to the Puako pier, you’ll have the chance to soak in the starlit sky and, if you’re lucky, witness the glowing bioluminescence in the water.
Wild Animal Policy:
While sightings of Manta Rays are common, they are wild animals, and there are no guarantees. However, if you don’t spot a Manta Ray during your tour, we will offer you a free return trip! If no Rays are seen, we’ll provide a 100% standby discount for a future tour, based on availability. Standby spots are not guaranteed, but we’ll do our best to accommodate you. You can use this complimentary ticket within 1 year. Rest assured, we typically see Manta Rays over 90% of the time, and we offer a “Come Again Free” policy. These tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis every day at 3 pm, given at no extra charge. Please note, we do not offer refunds, as operating this tour does incur costs.
Tour Location & Conditions:
Our tours depart from the west coast of the Big Island, where sea conditions are typically calm, but there is always some movement on the ocean. Sea sickness is rare on our tours, but for those prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking seasickness medication the night before and again on the morning of the tour. Stay hydrated, avoid heavy meals, and skip the alcohol prior to the tour for a more comfortable experience.

No pregnant women over six months
No guests with back or neck injuries
No children under the age of 5
Cancellation Policy:
We have a 48-hour cancellation policy for all reservations. In case of bad weather or insufficient passenger numbers for the tour, we reserve the right to cancel and offer a full refund. Alternatively, we can assist you in rebooking for a different date and time.
Important Note:
This is a barefoot charter. While exceptions may apply, please be aware that your shoes may get wet during the tour.
