This scenic hike takes you along a path less traveled, giving you a sense of solitude as you explore the natural beauty of Maui.

About the Hike
This moderately strenuous hike, which involves some technical aspects, is designed for experienced hikers or active individuals, including children. The adventure begins with a walk through bamboo thickets leading to a dirt trail that traverses rocky streams and boulders. The path, with its switchbacks, takes you toward an upper-tier waterfall and natural swimming pool.
For the more adventurous, we offer an optional waterfall rappel, available for those with rock climbing or rappelling experience. This activity will be assessed based on individual skill levels and weather conditions (it’s not necessary to rappel to fully enjoy the hike). The stream’s flow may vary depending on seasonal rainfall in the higher elevations.
Along the way, you’ll discover ancient native ruins and encounter native plants like the seasonal Awapuhi ginger, known for its skin and hair conditioning properties. You’ll also be mesmerized by the Banyan trees, with their aerial roots forming natural wonders. After a refreshing swim, we’ll return to the starting point and descend to the next phase of the journey.
The second phase of the hike takes you through giant basalt formations as we descend to several lower-tier waterfalls. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to swim in freshwater pools. The first waterfall features a natural water slide, perfect for kids, or if you prefer, take the plunge by jumping into the pool!
Continuing down the rocky stream, you’ll reach a giant Banyan tree with towering roots, leading to a secluded second-tier waterfall and pool. For the bold, there’s the option to climb into the waterfall, providing a truly epic experience. From here, we’ll be treated to stunning views of a larger, steep third-tier waterfall cascading toward the ocean.
