Not just the obstacles but also the striking views that Poipu Bay Golf Course offers will challenge you even if you are a pro.

Side by side Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa on the sunny southern shore of Kauai, this golfing ground lets you enjoy rich emerald mountains as a backdrop. Did you know that Poipu Bay is designed from a rolling plateau, eight stories above the Pacific Ocean?

Whether you are a resident of Hawaii or a visitor who fancies playing golf, why don’t you head over to Kauai and experience Poipu Bay Golf Course? Here’s another reason for you to visit if you are not convinced yet: From the course, you will have the opportunity to witness rare Hawaiian monk seals play, green sea turtles float, and humpback whales breach or slap the water with their fins or tails. Plus, if you haven’t seen Nene Geese in person yet, you might encounter them here – Poipu Bay being their home.

To begin, hole number 1, bordered by bunkers on both sides, should not give you trouble as the trade winds are directly behind your back and slightly from your right, so you might want to take your shot from right to left. Hole number 3 is the longest among all the par 3’s on the course, but don’t worry because you have several options here. Hole number 8 is definitely where your challenge begins, having the most difficult and scenic holes on the course.

With many restaurants to choose from near the course, you get to taste various menu items from breakfast to dinner. Overlooking the 18th hole, the Poipu Bay Clubhouse features a few dining areas with beautiful views, where you can eat at an open-air lanai or indoor. You can have a buffet breakfast, delicious sushi if you prefer Japanese food, seafood, classic Italian, or sandwiches and salads among others, along with your favorite beverages.

To compliment your experience, you can relax in one of their spas and forget about any stress that’s bugging you. If you love shopping, their Pro Shop sells fashionable golf attire and accessories with a unique Poipu Bay logo showing five iiwi or Hawaiian HoneyCreeper birds in a circular pattern like a flower. They also have casual wear if you prefer it.
